What the heck? It’s resurfaced!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

香蕉视频app网 So you remember the bladder tumor that no doctor knew exactly where it was? I had a cystoscope and a surgery in June to look for it. Then my Urologist told me it’s probably benign. So great! That’s good news I can move on...

Well I saw my Hematologist for a follow up appointment last week. I haven’t seen her in a year.  She asks me what happened with the tumor. I tell her the recent events and how it’s nothing to worry about.

She then proceeds to tell me due to recent blood work it shows I’m very iron deficient and anemic.  So I need iron infusions. This is my second time needing them.

I ask her why I’m getting so anemic? She tells me she looked at the recent images I had done that involves the mysterious tumor. The one every one thought was in the bladder. She tells me it needs to be addressed again.

she said it’s in the colon and it could be the reason I’m so anemic. She said it’s not nothing as it’s still growing so it does have blood supply.

So she called my GI doctor and on February 12 I go in for a colonoscopy.

It’s resurfaced! The freakin tumor issue is still unresolved. Granted I’m still not well physically and I’m definitely feeling like I did the last time I was anemic.

I also have three weeks of iron infusions.

I wanted to update you all as you followed my last health issue.

I really thought it was put to bed.

I am so sorry. 😓香蕉视频app网 Could it something of a genetic nature in your family ?

香蕉视频app网 I’m starting to wonder. There’s a lot of weird stuff in my family. I’ll ask the doctor that.

I'm so sorry to hear this. 😞  I can imagine how devastating it must be for you. Stay strong.  ((Hugs)).

Thanks! I was actually trying to convince her that it was nothing lol she finally said “ let me be the doctor and find out if it’s nothing.” Lol I just didn’t want to go through this again.

I can relate.  It's a long long journey.  You get treatment, hope it's been sorted, and life can carry on.  Only to have it back again.  Not funny.  I feel for you 😞

Thanks, I hope the colonoscopy is the last stop.

香蕉视频app网 Oh and the reason they thought it was in the bladder is because it’s indenting the bladder. So it’s in my colon pressing on my bladder.

Well, this is distressing. I would get a slew of second opinions, Limichelle. It's crazy that it took a year for them to figure out that this wasn't in your bladder.

香蕉视频app网 I realize that at times like this, you just want to be able to trust your doctors. But doctors do make mistakes, and this is your health and your life here.

香蕉视频app网 Anyway, I'm sorry this is still ongoing, and I do hope it comes to nothing.

I honestly forgot about the tumor until the hematologist who originally had nothing to do with it brought it up. She just remembered I was seeing specialists about it. She didn’t know the third Urologist I saw wrote it off as being nothing. So I kind of take responsibility for not pursuing it further on my end and not telling the GI doctor I had it during my appointment last month with her. So the GI doctor is saying I should have told her. She said even if I was told it could be benign.
I think I need a new Urologist though for writing this off as nothing. It still could be nothing but he told me at the time it wasn’t worth bringing up to any new doctor. I didn’t further pursue because I thought each specialist had examined it as best as they could. I saw three different gynecologists and three different urologists.

I now realize this whole time it’s been sitting in my colon. This is why the GI doctor and the Oncologist is miffed at the other specialists. They see this as time that could have been spent on finding the tumors exact location.

I think doctors some doctors see I’m healthy in other regards and age discriminate. Like “You’re fine, come back when your 50.”  The last Urologist told me at age 38 it was unnecessary to further explore a benign condition.

I just assumed benign. Now I move forward and pray this is nothing and hopefully I get answers when I have the procedure.

Ha ha, that sounds like me.  I like to go to the doctor with my own personal diagnosis and he always says, "it doesn't work like that.  You tell me the symptoms and I'll figure out the diagnosis."  🙂

It sounds nervewracking anyway.  Sorry this is happening to you but you sound strong with a good attitude; I'd like to think that counts for something.

It’s here! Today’s the day. Wish me luck!

I hope this is my last stop with this tumor. That it can be resolved.

香蕉视频app网 I’m no longer nervous, just extremely hopeful.

Update!

I had the procedure and finally got a reassurance and clean Bill of health. The ‘tumor’ is nothing scary it’s most likely a sac of fluid or scar tissue in the abdomen. She said it’s not in the colon. My oncologist will probably touch base with me soon.

The GI doctor told me I probably need but really not needed, need to see a general surgeon to look inside my stomach to determine what it is down the road, she didn’t recommend it now with Covid. She said it’s not urgent.

This makes me feel better.
